I've Been Feeling a Change in the Wind

Oh my goodness.... It feels like forever that I've been on here!
{it really has though - who am I kidding!}

Well, some really big changes have been in the works for quite some time now, and I've not had the guts nor the self esteem to talk about them on here until now.

I am almost divorced.

there.

Freedom in saying that!
You know when two people seem to do the right thing, and then come together, and drift apart, create lives without including the other person {willingly and unwillingly}, creating secrets and keeping them from each other? That was my life I had to live with.

I'm not going to get in to the meat and potatoes of the situation, but I am comfortable to put it out there that NO ONE EVER on this entire planet deserves to think that they are the smallest human being, that they are obviously on the back burner for a reason, or that the happiness of the marriage is a result from only your actions.  Marriage is a TWO WAY street.

ANYWAY.

So I've met someone new.  His name is Shawn, and let me tell you, he's going to be around for quite some time!!!
We've already begun creating a future, and it is so exciting! Well, the future planning part is exciting too, but the most exciting part is not only how he makes me feel, but how I've began to love myself more because of him.

LIFE IS GOOD.

I know that what I say has value.
I know that I AM worth a good night kiss.
I know that I AM worth random texts throughout the day.
I know that my future can be whatever I make it to be.
I know that communication, even if it's hard, is the best therapy when someone who cares is listening actively.
I know that it is okay to be me.

And I know that all that is true for Shawn, and more.

Thank you Shawn, for changing my perspective on the world and myself.

Thank you Shawn, for understanding that family is important to me.

Thank you Shawn, for being no one but yourself.

We've been to Mexico, NYC, and a few other small local drives. But we've already done so much that it feels like it's been over a longer period of time.  More posts on the vacations to come, including what to pack for Mexico, What to do in Cozumel, NYC, and other fun things!
